How to make your own mask to take part in this year's theme of carnival of the animals.

We've worked with The Artroom to help you or your community group create a paper-plate animal mask and a lion mask.

Follow along with our short films, which will take you through a step-by-step guide to creating your own mask, ready to celebrate Victoria Day on 8 June.

Paper plate animal mask

(difficulty rating: easy)

You will need:

  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Colouring pens or pencils
  • Sticky fixers
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Glue scissors
  • Blu tack
  • Scraps of paper

Lion mask

(difficulty rating: medium)

You will need:

  • Cardboard box
  • Paints
  • Scissors
  • Colouring pens or pencils
  • Glue stick
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Glue scissors
  • Scraps of paper
